Paige Young

Paige Young is an accomplished photographer, educator, and business owner with over 18 years of professional experience in the visual arts. She is the founder of Apaige Photography, a thriving business centered on wedding and creative portraiture that also serves as a platform for community empowerment and artistic collaboration. Paige is known for her client-centered approach, believing that genuine human connection during a session is just as important as the final image. Beyond wedding photography, she has helped numerous local businesses across Grand Rapids with branding, marketing imagery, website development, and SEO strategy, demonstrating her broad creative and entrepreneurial skill set.

Paige holds a Master of Fine Arts in Photography and a Master’s in Visual and Critical Studies from Kendall College of Art and Design, where she also served as an adjunct professor. Currently, she is a visiting professor at Grand Valley State University, teaching courses in photography and visual studies through 2026. Her academic experience spans GVSU, KCAD, GRCC, and MSU, where she has led thesis courses, guided senior exhibitions, and mentored emerging artists. In addition to her academic and professional commitments, Paige actively exhibits her fine art photography in galleries and virtual exhibitions, often focusing on themes of grief, identity, and human connection.

She is deeply involved with nonprofits and eco-conscious organizations such as Black Sheep Bride, promoting sustainability in the wedding industry. What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don’t expect things to fall into your lap—you have to work hard, stay focused, and earn every opportunity that comes your way.
